Process Timeline

1. Initial Consultation

• Discuss your vision:

We will have a consultation a few months before your event to discuss exact details and your vision.

• Choose perfect scene to capture:

During the consultation, we will discuss what scene you would like captured and any special details you would like to add.

• Review timeline and logistics:

The consultation will also provide crucial details for the day of such as when I should arrive, timeline details, and anything else you would like to discuss.

3. Final Touches

• Studio refinements:

I dedicate anywhere from 20-30 hours on average adding touch-ups but if needed I will spend 50+ hours to perfect your heirloom piece.

• Varnishing

This process takes at least a week after the painting process ends to allow the painting to properly dry before applying the varnish and between each layer.

• Quality check

I will send progress pictures (unless you state you want it to be a surprise) while I paint and to make sure I capture your vision correctly.

2. Event Day

• Early arrival for setup:

I usually arrive at least 2 hours early to the event to block in and start the background of the painting. This allows the guests to get a better idea of what I am painting from the start of the event.

• Live painting during event:

I will spend 6-8 hours at the event painting live. I tend to stay at the event for an additional hour or two for guests to look at and admire the end of night progress.

• Guest interaction and viewing:

Throughout the night, guests are able to come up to me and ask me questions or even add the painting if they would like. Don’t worry, I am able to cover up any imperfections they might add but it adds a sense of inclusivity that makes the experience that much more intimate and memorable.

4. Delivery

• Secure packaging

When packaging your special piece, I add paper and at times bubble wrap to protect the painting and keep it from moving in the box. I also add a fragile sign on the box to tell the delivery service that they need to be cautious.

• Shipping arrangements

During the consultation, I will get your shipping details. When I am about to ship it out, I will send you an email or text depending on how we communicate and then I will also have shipping updates sent to you as well.

• Care instructions

The best way to take care of a painting by Art By Audie is to keep it out of direct sunlight and in a room with good ventilation and lower humidity (aka not in the bathroom or kitchen). If the painting gets dusty, use a microfiber cloth and gently dust the painting. Do not get the surface of the painting wet. If you have any other questions you can contact me.
